Dear Bridge Players

Welcome to Watford Bridge Club's web site. The aim of our club is to be welcoming and friendly whilst also being competitive.  Visitors and prospective new members are always most welcome.

We invite you to join us at Watford Bridge Club for an enjoyable game of bridge. We hope to see you there.

David Earle

Watford Bridge Club Parking Arrangements

Parking at Beechen Grove Church

The existing arrangements at Beechen Grove Church are:

  • Bridge Club members can park anywhere there is a space

  • In the evenings only,  you can park against the side of the Church in the spaces marked “Reserved for the Minister” or “Reserved for the House Manager”

  • Please try to avoid blocking other people (in our own interests!)

  • Please don’t park against the front of the Church building itself as this can make it difficult for our cars to leave at the end

Some dates for your diary

CALENDAR FOR 2008-9

Events in September

Just a little reminder - its the EBU Autumn Simultaneous Pairs on Tuesday, so please bring an additional £2.90 each, making £5.40 altogether per person or £10.80 per pair. Cheques are always acceptable.

Watford have a home game on Tuesday so you may want to leave a little earlier

Prize money vouchers

Attendance has now improved so much that we are once again awarding prize money vouchers to the winning pair when there are ten or more tables. These give you free entry on Tuesdays and Fridays, so, if you are a lucky winner, just hand in your voucher instead of cash.

Parking – a gentle reminder

Please don’t park so that you block other people in. Sometimes the cars blocked in belong to members of other organisations who then demand to be released half way through the evening - or you may block in a pair of our members who had a sit out on the last round and now have to wait until we have all finished.

And alas, we can't park in the RBS building next door any more. We are seeking alternatives and will let you know if we succeed.

Subscriptions, remain at £12.  Cheques payable to Watford Bridge Club will be most acceptable.
